Matt Wallace helps prepare clients for deals at all stages of the life of a business. He has represented both small family-owned companies and large national companies. He combines his understanding of the law, accounting, and business acumen to solve issues for his clients, from business formation, to mergers and acquisitions, to day-to-day matters in between.
Practice Areas
As a member of the corporate practice group, Matt works on mergers and acquisitions on both the buy side and sell side of transactions. Matt also has considerable experience advising clients in the negotiation of complex master services agreements and other contracts to buy and sell goods and services. Matt also enjoys advising large, established companies, as well as businesses at the start-up stage, with respect to entity formation and governance matters.
Education
Matt graduated with honors from the University of Chicago Law School. He was a member of the University of Chicago Law Review. Before attending law school, Matt graduated cum laude in business administration, with a major in accounting, from the University of Notre Dame. He then earned a Master of Accountancy degree at the University of Iowa. Matt passed all four sections of the Uniform Certified Public Accountant Examination.
Personal
Born and raised in Des Moines, Matt is a Dowling Catholic High School alumnus. While attending Dowling Catholic High School he was elected senior class president and was nationally recognized in debate. Matt enjoys getting to practice law in the city he always called home and being a part of the Des Moines community.
