Retired Belin attorney Steve Zumbach recognized as one of dsm Magazine's Sages Over 70 on November 10, 2022.
In his recognition as one of dsm Magazine's Sages Over 70, Steve is celebrated as a community leader who has 'made the city a better place to live through their civic and business leadership, mentorship endeavors and community advocacy.'
Steve retired in 2020 after first starting at the firm in 1977. His practice focused on closely held family businesses. His primary areas of practice were mergers and acquisitions, corporate law, estate law, tax law and nonprofits.
Steve earned his undergraduate degree at Iowa State University before earning his juris doctor from the University of Iowa. He went on to receive a doctorate in economics at Iowa State in addition to being a certified public accountant.
He was recognized by Chambers and Partners USA as a Corporate M&A Star Individual, was named Best Lawyers’ Des Moines Mergers and Acquisitions Lawyer of the Year, Best Lawyers’ Des Moines Estate and Trusts Lawyer of the Year, a Iowa Business Hall of Fame inductee, a recipient of the Governor's Award for Outstanding Service as an Iowan, and listed as on of Worth Magazine’s Top 100 Lawyers.
He served on the Iowa Board of Regents, was chair of the Greater Des Moines Partnership, a founder of Bravo, chair of the Greater Des Moines Chamber of Commerce Federation, and co-chair of the Central Iowa Water Trails Project.
