Iowa Ranked in Top Ten Best States in 2024

U.S. News & World Report released its 2024 Best States rankings, listing Iowa as the sixth best state in overall rankings. The ranking analyzes "thousands of data points to measure how well states are performing for their citizens" in various categories including health care, economy, education, and opportunity.

All categories are weighted differently, depending on what is most important to the people they surveyed. Iowa performed especially high in affordability, health care access, economic opportunity, and long-term fiscal stability.
