The attorneys at Belin McCormick recognize the importance of regularly engaging in pro bono work. The Firm encourages its attorneys to meet or exceed all of the applicable American Bar Association and Iowa State Bar Association pro bono standards and recommendations.
Our pro bono commitment is grounded in our sense of responsibility to the Greater Des Moines community, especially to those who are otherwise unable to afford access to legal services. To that end, our attorneys currently serve and have served on the boards of organizations devoted to the interests of persons with disabilities, the underserved and the homeless, utilizing their legal expertise for the greater good on a pro bono basis. Belin McCormick has long been a visible and ardent supporter of Iowa Legal Aid: In the past, Belin McCormick rotated attorneys, one afternoon each week, assisting Iowa Legal Aid staff attorneys with their intake process. In addition, several of our attorneys have volunteered at the HOLA Center, performing legal intake and working on pro bono cases that serve the Latino community in the Des Moines metropolitan area. Further, many of our firm’s attorneys volunteer their time working on cases through the Polk County Bar Association’s Volunteer Lawyers Project.
Whether through these formalized programs or through independent initiative, the attorneys at Belin McCormick are committed to using their time and other resources to help those in need to better our community.
